Week 77: 4/29/2019: Mission Accomplished

This is the last weekly I will send as a full time missionary, and I couldn't have had a better end to my mission!

My heart is full of gratitude for the opportunity that I have had to be a representative of Jesus Christ for the past year and a half. I have come to know Him in a personal way, and I love Him more than ever before. Serving a mission has been one of the greatest blessings in my life, and I have experienced some of my greatest joys out here. Serving a mission has been one of the greatest decisions I have ever made, and I will be forever grateful for my time here in the GANM!

This week we got to go to the temple as a zone, and it is always great to go with a big group of missionaries. The Lord has put so much trust in us as missionaries, and I know that His work will continue to spread across the world.

A few days later we got to go to the temple with Josh for his first time! It was one of the best temple trips I have ever experienced. We got to do baptisms for the dead with him, and I was reminded of the simplicity of the gospel. I haven't done baptisms for the dead in years, so it was a big blessing to be able to do them. The temple workers were so kind and made Josh feel like he was the only one in the temple. Josh has been to the temple grounds multiple times, and as we were walking out of the temple he said, " The temple grounds are alright, but going inside is so much better!" I couldn't agree more. Josh got to do the baptism for his father who passed away in 2009. It was amazing! I had an experience in the temple that was very special to me. I know that God is aware of each of his children, and that he uses us to bless the lives of those around us.

After the temple we got Smashburger!! I haven't had that in 18 months so I was very excited! After that, we drove back to Athens to get ready for Emily's baptism! Emily's family wasn't able to make it to the baptism, but she said it was okay because the branch is her family. Emily had such a great experience that she asked if she could stand and share her testimony. It was genuine and full of so much love!

Emily cares a lot about her hair, and DID NOT want to get her roots wet. So, we had to get creative! I will attach a video clip so y'all can see 🤣

I love this gospel and I love my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I am grategul for my family and for their love and support. I would not be her without them. I am grateful for the knowledge of eternal families, and I'm grateful to know that through Jesus Christ we can have eternal joy. I have found that eternal joy in Georgia.
