Week 3: 11/6/2017: Little India

Hey ya'll!

I miss everyone so much, but I am in GEORGIA! I flew into Atlanta on Monday, and it has been crazy ever since. This might be a long email so I am sorry ha!

The first thing I did was go to the mission home. President and Sister Marsh are the best! They are so fun and I love them. We had dinner with them and we got to see our bikes and everything. That night we also had a Halloween party with the zone which was a lot of fun. The first day here was good.

The next day I got to meet my trainer, Sister Oldham! She is so cute! She is from Utah (of course ), and we get along great. I know Heavenly Father put us together for a reason. She is the best and we work great together. After that, we have just been working hard since. We have gone tracting and store contacting a lot, and this week we taught 7 lessons which was awesome! The reason I called this email Little India is because it is. SO many people practice Hinduism, which is cool, but it is also really hard to get hem so listen to you. Most of them are nice, except for this one guy who yelled at us and told us to stop bothering him. It is okay though. We are planting seeds, and hopefully one day he will remebe the missionaries that came to his door. There is just great power when you say I am a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! I love it!

The first lesson I taught was to our investigator Jen. She is very nice, and she actually told us about some of her doubts and what she is struggling with. I hope we can help her with her problems, and that she can feel God's love for her. We also have an investigator named Guillermo and he is the sweetest! We got to do a Facebook chat lesson with him which was so cool! The last investigator that we have been working with is Sarah. She is 16 and she is the best. Yesterday was fast and testimony meeting, and Sarah got up and bore her testimoy! It was such a beautiful testimony and that shows how much courage she has! It was so awesome to see a non member bear their testimony. It was a great experience. Sister Oldham and I were also able to bear our testimonies. I get so nervous bearing my testimony, but yesterday was great! I have never felt power working through me like that. I am not even sure what I said, but I felt the spirit so strong. Yesterday we also got to get blessings from our ward mission leader ( Kevin ). Kevin is the best! He gave me a blessing that I know was from myHeavely Father. The things he said touched my heart and really comforted me. It was an amazing experience.

I shared a lot of spiritual experiences, but I am about to tell you a funny, yet disgusting thing that happened to me. On Saturday we had a baptism for a girl in the ward, and after we got a text from a non member asking if we could come over for some service. So of course we hurried over and were excited to help her. When we got there, we soon realized we had made a mistake haha! She brought us into her unfinished basement, and has us sweep us all the fiberglass that her dog had chewed up. It was everywhere. Then we had to move it for her and we got all itchy. Here is the best part! She then handed us bleach and a scraper and had us scrape the dog poop off of the floor. THERE WERE PILES OF IT! Honesly we were laughing so hard! As gross as it was it was so fuuny! Sister Oldham and I were gagging the whole time! Even though it was disgusting we still had a great time. We decided that next time she wants us to do service she has to listen to one of our lessons ha!

Overall I have had a great week and I am glad to be here. I have had so many experiences that remind me of why I am here and that I am supposed to be here. Heavenly Father loves us! He loves each and everyone of us no matter what! We were talking with a member at dinner the other night and she said that during trials is when we feel God's love the most. He can't help but comfort us when we are struggling, but we have to be aware that he is there or we will miss those precious moments. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is true, and I know that the world needs peace right now. That peace is Jesus Christ.

I miss ya'll so much and I hope everyone is doing great! Life is great! I miss ya'll! Talk to you next week!
