Week 4: 11/13/2017: "That by Small means the Lord can bring about great things"

Hey ya'll!

I can't believe it is already P Day! A lot has happeed this week, and I hope ya'll enjoy!

On Tuesday we had an amazing district meeting. I don't remember evrything that was said, but the spirit was sostrong. We were talking about meaningful contacts and how to use the Book of Mormon more effectively. I think we take for granted the amazing power that we can hold between our hands. The Book of Mormon has more power than we even realize. How lucky are we that God has given us this great tool!

Sister Oldham and I had a really amazing experience while seeking guidance for our investigators. We were doing companionship study, and what  we were studying really helped us with our investigators. We were able to take the time to really decide what their needs are, and what we can do to help them. I love having a Facebook mission because it is so convenient! We were able to have a lot of Facebook video chat lessons this week. We had a lesson with Guillermo and were able to add in the Spanish speaking elders in to our lesson. It was so awesome! We have had some really great lessons this week, and a lot of our investigators are making great progress!

It was bike week this week, and to be honest I am a little sore ha! There are SO MANY hills it is ridiculous! It is also really really scary to bike here because there are basiically no side walks and there are no bike lanes either. So most of the time we have to ride on the white line, and that scares me every time. Honestly, I am surprised I haven't gotten ran over yet! I do like biking because it is so beautiful here, and I love being able to see so much while biking.

This week we got to help with Treat the Troops! It was so much fun! Sister Oldham and I had a member come and help with us too! When we got there it was us, four of the elders from our district, and the people in charge. It was the best experience! We got to lable boxes of treats for the troops and the load and unload them. We did about 580 boxes! It was so much fun, and I hope we get to do it again!

Anoher highlight of the week was getting to talk to a lady named Jackie. We live in an apartment complex where almost everyone who lives here is retired and quite a bit older than us. We made cookies for Jackie who is 85 and brought them to her. The smile on her face was so big when she opened her door. Jackie said it was perfect that we came over that night because she wouldn't be home the other nights! Perfect timing! She invited us in, and we had the best conversation! She had so many great stories! Her dad was actually best friends with the man who invented Lays chips. Jackie also told us that before she was married to her husband he was in the army. He was stationed somewhere.. I can't remember where, but he sent her an engagement ring in the mail. She said she was so mad at him for not actually proposing, but evenually she got over it and they were married. Jackie was talking about the Bible and I said you should read our book. She asked what it was and I said the Book of Mormon. She already has one! Jackie said that she had read it, but I think when we go back next time we will talk more about it with her. It was the best experience!

It was a great week, and I am doing awesome! I would not be where I am if it wasn't for Jesus Christ. He is always there for us. Because of Him, we have nothing to fear! I LOVE 2 Nephi 7:6-8. The Lord is near us, and we need to be bold! We never have to be scared because Jesus Christ is there. I am so grateful for Him and I love Him so much. The gospel is great, and we are so blessed!

Thank you so much for the love and support! I am so lucky. It really means the world to me, and I am very grateful. I hope everyone is doing great!
