Week 18: 2/19/2018: Root Beer Floats

Hey y'all! I had a really great week here in Georgia! I hope everyone had an awesome week as well.

The week started out with a crazy Nerf war on P day! We split our zone into the red team and the blue team, and set up a war zone. It was crazy! We played for a few hours, but I could have played all day. Needless to say, we were all sore the next day.

The next couple of days we unpacked our things into the new apartment. It's coming along! We are very blessed in Laurel Springs. Elder Morton, the housing coordinator said, " This isn't a mission, this is a vacation home." 🤣 so our apartment is so nice and we are very grateful! We celebrated Valentines Day in the new place. We didn't really do anything different. We made Valentines for all of the people in our building, and passed those out. One lady was so sweet about her Valentine ❤ she said it was her first and only one of the day. It was really sweet.

We got a surprise call saying that we had interviews with President in a few hours. We got to interviews, and President was a little behind schedule. Let's just say we waited awhile to be interviewed. My interview went well, and I know great things will be happening this next transfer!

This week we got to help with Treat the Troops again! Seriously, it's so much fun. Treat the Troops is a group that makes cookies and treats to send to the troops. They usually send out a big shipment of boxes around the holidays, and I'm so glad we got to help. We help label the boxes and ship them out. We did 403 boxes of cookies for the Troops! It was awesome!

This week we have the temple trip, and I am so excited! I have loved doing family history and learning about my ancestors. I always thought family history was just for old people, but I was wrong 🤣 I absolutely love it! Next week we have a conference for all of the sisters in the mission, and then it will be transfers! So crazy!

Funny story! So, basically anyone who knows me knows that I'm a bit of a picky eater.. my mom will agree. Well, I used to be a picky eater before I came out here. Here is an example. Last night we had a great dinner with a member family, and then it was time for dessert. I was stoked... until they brought it out. Root beer floats. Everyone knows root beer and cinnamon rolls are my absolute least favorite things EVER. I just grabbed Sister Oldham and said a silent prayer in my heart. Let's just say, with a little gagging I was able to finish it off. 🤣

I have definitely seen the Lord's hand in my life. I've had so many prayers answered these past few weeks, and experiences that are much more than just a "coincidence". I am very blessed.
I hope everyone had a great week! Thank you for the love and support. Love you ❤
