Week 21: 3/12/2018: Shrimp and Grits

Hey y'all! Another great week here in the peach state!

This week was one of the best weeks I have had in the mission. It was hard, but so rewarding. At the beginning of the week I had to say goodbye to Sister Oldham which was so sad, but I got the best new missionary! Her name is Sister Holman and I am so excited to be with her! I love training, and I know I will learn a lot.

We started the week out strong, and started working hard from the first day. Sister Holman is a hard worker, and I love that! We reacted a lot this week... As always, and found some really great people. We had a lot of miracles, and we definitely saw the Lord's hand in the work this week. On Thursday we were tracting, and so many great things happened. We knocked on a door, and a guy named Pedro answered. He is in his early 20s. We told him about the Book of Mormon, and he was very interested. I told him he could have a free copy, and he thought that was great! I went to grab a copy out of my bag when I realized I forgot to put a new Book of Mormon in my bag that morning. I took out my own copy that was marked and everything, and told him that he could have it. I'm not going to lie, that was hard. I had taken so much time marking my own copy up and everything, but I knew he needed it. He felt bad for taking it, but told us to come back with a fresh copy and that we could switch. We did just that. We went back and were able to give him a new book, and teach him about it. We plan to go back on Wednesday! We said goodbye to Pedro and about two houses down a guy named Gregg told us we could come back too! At this point, we were on cloud 9. So much good was happening! After leaving Greggs, Sister Holman and I got a call. I answered and it was a guy named Bradley. He said he was moving here from Ohio, and wanted to know when church was. He's not a member, but a friend in high school once showed him the Book of Mormon. Bradley said ever since then he hasn't been able to stop thinking about it! Bradley asked how he could learn more and where he should start! We told him we could teach him more, and he is supposed to be here on Wednesday! I pray it will all work out. It was such an amazing day we had tears in our eyes because the Lord had blessed us so much for putting in a little more time into finding. It was amazing!

Yesterday was a great day too! I finally had REAL southern food. Shrimp and grits. I must say, that was one of the best things I have ever eaten. It was so good! I am thankful for the awesome ward that we have, and that they are always feeding us ha!

Seriously, this week was amazing. We had so much success, and we were able to work hard with a smile on our face. I know the Lord is aware of each and every one of us. He cares about us and the desires of our hearts. I'm thankful for the Savior and our Heavenly Father. Georgia is great, and so is the Gospel!

I hope everyone has a great week. Love y'all!
