Week 29: 5/8/2018: Take One Step at a Time
I hope everyone had a great week, and that you were able to recognize the Lord's hand in your life.
This week was different than most weeks, but it was still a good week. A couple weeks ago I started having pain in my foot, and because we walk all day that's not very fun. We went to the foot doctor and basically I have a bump on the back of my foot, and on top of that bump I have a cyst. We were sitting there and the doctor went through all the possibilities, and we decided to try the easiest option. So I got a cortisone shot in my foot, and was told I couldn't walk on it for the next couple of days. Staying inside for a couple days wasn't as bad as I thought, but life is so much better when I get to go out and work! We have a follow up appointment on Friday and will see what they say. I also had the chance to get a blessing, and it was very powerful. In this life, not everything goes the way we planned, but that's to be expected. It's life. I know without a doubt, as we face our trials with faith, that we can overcome anything that is put in front of us! Life is good, and I got permission to wear flip flops for awhile, so I'm pretty lucky 😉
This week we had an amazing experience with prayer. I was not having the greatest day, but we continued on with tye work and were going to end the night with tracting. We always say a prayer before tracting, and in my prayer I asked Heavenly Father to bless us with one person who would have us come back. We got out of the car, knocked on the first house, and met a girl named Megan. She has been taught by the missionaries and invited back. After we met her, we were walking pass a family who is part of our church. The dad told us that in his prayer(About 5 min. Before we tracted) he prayed that we could find someone to teach. It was a faith building experience for sure!
One of our top progressing investigators has decided to take a break from the church, which is a real bummer, but we all have agency. I know that when she is ready to hear more lessons and choose for herself, Christ will be there with open arms waiting for her.
Today we went on a hike, and it was awesome! It is called Amicalola Falls, and I loved it so much. We went for sisters p day and had a blast! It was definitely the highlight of my week!
This week was could have been "hard", but we could say that every day is hard, but we have to be optimistic and look at the good from every day. Elder Costa of the seventy spoke to us at Stake Conference and told us that since he has become a member of this church he has never had a bad day in his life. I know that the Gospel brings true happiness. I love the Church and I am grateful to be a servant of the Lord.
