Week 36: 7/2/2018: Let the Spirit Pick the Date
Wow. What a great week! 😊 I am starting to feel more comfortable in Level Creek, and I am grateful to be here.
This week we had a lot of great things happen. On Tuesday we had district meeting and a doctor's appointment. I have loved my district this past transfer, and this week we have a combined district meeting so that should be fun! After our meeting we went to the doctor and... I got my boot off! 7 weeks was a long time in that thing, but I am glad to have it off. I have to wear a brace for awhile, but that's okay!
My favorite day this week was by far Thursday! We had a dinner scheduled with Sister Johnson from our ward, and it was so much fun! First, she took us to eat at a place called Tanners. Tanners is a place that serves chicken and their honey mustard was fantastic. Then, Sister Johnson took us to get roll up ice cream. That was so much fun and I was stuffed by the end of the night!
After ice cream we had a lesson with our investigator Jared. Jared is a great guy and his love for the gospel continues to grow. Jared was put on date before I got here, but he wasn't scheduled to be baptized for months. My companions and I had talked about moving his date up and chose July 21st. During our lesson with Jared, I could feel the spirit so strong. I was trying to focus on Jared, but the spirit would not stop telling me to look at my calendar. At first I ignored the prompting(don't do that), but then I looked at my calendar and knew that August 4th was the day Jared needed to be baptized. While I testified to Jared, I could feel the spirit like never before and I committed him to be baptized on August 4th. He said yes! After the lesson he asked how we picked the date, and I told him we had not picked that date before but that the spirit told us. It was an a amazing experience!
This week was filled with a lot of great experiences, and I love being able to share my experiences with others. Transfers are next week along with my 9 month mark.. crazy! I hope y'all have a great 4th of July.
Lots of love
Sister Guillory
P.S- President Marsh gave me some great advice on why everyone should be Ute fans. In D&C 133:48 it says, " And the Lord shall be red in his apparel.." it doesn't say blue, but it says red. 😉
