Week 45: 9/3/2018: The Work of the Lord
Hey y'all! What an amazing week here in Gainesville! I saw so many miracles, and I am truly grateful for all that the Lord is doing in this area.
Best news of the week? Our investigators Alexis and Song are getting baptized on the 29th! I am so proud of them, and I know that the Gospel will continue to change their lives. Alexis is the mom of Song, who is 12, and Gavin who is 7. They are an incredible family and I am blessed to know them.
Alexis has such a strong testimony that she shared her testimony in sacrament meeting yesterday!! She is not even a member, and knew that she needed to express her gratitude and love for the gospel. I know members of the ward were touched by her testimony, and I was especially. I love in Goergia hat there is never a moment of silence during testimony meeting. As the bishop was conducting, before he even finished talking, a man walked up to the front to bear his testimony. After him, 6 of us walked up there at the same time. This is how testimony meeting should be. We are all blessed and the least we can do is express our gratitude to our Heavenly Father.
This week we also had Missionary Leadership Conference. It was awesome! In this meeting we talk about becoming a better leader and things we can do to improve the work. This time, we talked about working with the members. I know that missionary work is the most successful when it is done in harmony with the full time missionaries and the ward members. I have seen this first hand, and I am grateful for the members who put so much into Lord's work!
Another miracle happened with our investigator Dillon. Dillon is elect! We knocked into him a few weeks ago, and since then he has been progressing. We gave him a Book of Mormon and went back a few days ago to follow up with him. I asked how his reading was going, and he said, "The Book of Mormon has changed my life." I was so happy! Dillon let the power of the Book of Mormon work in his life and now he is seeing the blessings from it! He also said something that really touched my heart and he said, " Sister Guillory explains everything really well. I feel a sense of connection when she speaks with me as well." I'm not saying that to toot my own horn, but to recognize that where we are in life is where we are supposed to be. God has a plan, and His plan is perfect.
