Week 52: 10/23/2018: Elder Bednar

What an AMAZING week! First off, we got to have like a 3 hour discussion with Elder Bednar! It was incredible to be in the presence of an apostle of the Lord. The spirit that filled the room was pure and full of love. Some things I learned: Elder Bednar is HILARIOUS, his wife has one of the sweetest spirits I've ever felt, and Jesus Christ is aware of each and every one of us. At the end of the conference Elder Bednar said that he wishes he could take each one of us by the face, look us in the eyes, and say that the Lord loves us and this message is from him. The spirit filled my heart as he said that, and it was a testimony to me that Jesus Christ truly loves each and every one of us.

Elder Bednar also talked a lot about the Book of Mormon. He talked about the importance of reading the Book of Mormon daily, and how you can tell when someone is not reading it every day. A lot of people today read anti literature and believe anonymous sources, but don't put forth time to read the Book of Mormon as much as they read anti literature. When he said that, I knew that that was so true. If people put forth as much effort reading the Book of Mormon as they do anti material, their testimonies would be so much stronger. As we invite the spirit into our lives, we are inviting Jesus Christ into our hearts.

We also put three of our people on date to be baptized November 10th! It is a family and they are so sweet. I am proud of their decision, and I know it will bless them forever. We also met the most elect person I've ever come into contact with. His name is CJ, and I can't describe the spirit that he has. When we first taught him, I had a burning in my chest for about an hour after we left him. It felt as if I was having a heart attack.. I've never had one of those, but I assume that's what it felt like. CJ is very prepared, and we hope to put him on date soon!

I am so grateful to be a missionary and have these once in a lifetime opportunities to meet some incredible people. I am blessed to be a member of Christ's restored church. I love this gospel with all of my heart, and I always will.
