Week 55: 11/12/2018: God Don't Make No Junk

This week was AMAZING! The title of the email comes from a sweet, old southern man we met a few nights ago. I'd say I have to agree with his statement 🤣

We had the baptism for Alexis, Song, and Gavin and my heart us still full of joy for them! I am so proud of them, and I know they will change so many lives because of their decision to be baptized. The sweetest part of their experience for me was hearing them be confirmed in sacrament meeting. The blessing they got were some of the most sincere blessings I have ever heard. In the blessing for Song, God told her that she would one day find a worthy young man that would take her to the temple where they could begin their eternal family. Gavins blessing said that he would serve a mission. When I heard those words I was overwhelmed with joy. One family will affect generations and generations. I am so happy for them!

Yesterday morning was ROUGH. We got a text from one of our elect investigators, who has decided she doesn't want anything to do with us anymore. She said she believes in God, but has a problem with his followers. It broke my heart to hear that her testimony was torn down because of her feelings for other people, and that she did not have enough faith in Jesus Christ and His gospel. After much thought and prayer, it was time to go to church. Church turned out to be one of the best services I have ever attended. The spirit that was present was raw and real. It felt as if you could reach out and grab it. The testimonies that were shared are exactly what I needed to hear, and I felt God's love for me so much. I know that the adversary tries his hardest to get us away from church, but the second we enter the building with an open heart, their is NOTHING he can do.

We got transfer calls... I will be staying in Gainesville, and I will be gaining two new companions! My companions will be Sister Hoffman and Sister Nicosia!! I can't tell you how much I love these two sisters! It will be a tight fit for all of us in the apartment, but it will be fun! They will get here tomorrow!

I hope you all have a great week! Lots of love
