Week 69: 2/25/2019: Miracle Week
This week was FULL of miracles!! I am so overwhelmed with the many blessings that I've seen this week. The Lord is in the details.. thankfully!
Do y'all remember Robbie? He is the super cool guy who hasn't come to church in awhile and we had to stop teaching a few weeks ago? Well, I've got a story for you! I was yellow pad praying last week, and I felt prompted to fast for Robbie. So Sister Cleveland and I did. I've never had a super strong testimony on fasting because I've never personally seen blessings from doing so. Obviously I know there were blessings, but I asked the Lord to help me notice the blessings that would come from this fast. Anyway, fast forward to a few days ago when we texted Robbie and told him that if he read the BOM every day leading up to his test he would get a good score. He said he better start reading, and then we told him that when he got a good score that he would have to meet up with us again. Robbie said that didn't need to happen for him to meet up with us again! He had a change of heart! WHAT A MIRACLE!
Not only that, but we were able to set a baptismal date for our investigator Emily! We asked her if she had anyone close to her that had passed away, and she said her great grandma. Her great grandma didn't have a knowledge of the restored gospel and died 6 years ago. We told her that her great grandma is in spirit prison and has been for 6 years, and that Emily was the only one who could get her out. The spirit was so strong and Emily accepted a baptismal date. I know the greatest work we can do for anyone is their temple work. The spirit of Elijah is real, and I am extremely grateful for the temple and the opportunities we have to help our ancestors.
I love serving in the GANM, and I am grategul to be serving here in Athens. I know Jesus Christ loves each of you. Trust in Him. I gave a talk on Sunday and used Alma 26. I invite each of you to read it, and learn from the examples of Alma the younger and the four sons of Mosiah. This chapter has helped me in ways that I never thought were possible, and I know it can do the same for you.
By the way, Sister Cleveland and I were asked to be the speakers this Sunday. Because we are in a branch, sacrament doesn't take long so we were asked to each prepare 15-20 minute talks. Let me tell you. Sister Cleveland went first and condensed all of her talk into 4 MINUTES! 🤣 Sister Cleveland looks back at me and says, " Sorry, that's all I got." With that being said, I got to give a 30 minute talk. Even I got sick of hearing my own voice by the end of it (; it was a funny, but good experience!
