Week 10: 12/25/2017: Merry CHRISTmas

Merry Christmas y'all!

I hope everyone had a reat Christmas! Thank you for every thought, package, card, email, and just every little bit of support. It means the world to me. I am so blessed, and I am so grateful for all the amazing people in my life. This week was great, and Christmas made it even better!

This week we started out by having District Meeting. I gave a training in district meeting, and it actually went really good. I gave a training on praying with faith. This week was a hard one for me considering my faith. We have been struggling to get new investigators, but we continued to have faith. We were doing everything we were supposed to and more, but no success. We could not understand why we had so much faith, but no success. Well, we had a really cool experience! The elders in a different ward met this man while volunteering, and he said his 15 year old son would be interested in meeting with missionaries. The elders found out that the boy is in our area! So we got a new investigator! It can be hard to continue in faith, but I know that iif we do we are blessed. The Lord blesses us in different ways than we expect!

Sarah, our investigator, had surgery on her hand this week. It was bike week, and we had to find a ride to Sarah's house. We were dropping off some treats for her to get better. When we came in she wanted us to stay, and she was so bummed we had to leave. We video chatted when we got home and she actually asked to read the Book of Mormon. It was amazing! When Iwas testifying of God's love for her, I could not help but cry. It is amazing to feel how much God loves each one of his children.

The best part of the week was of course Christmas Eve and Christmas. Yesterday was Sister Oldham's birthday, and we got to celebrate for her. We had an amazing sacrament meeting and there were a million people there. After Sacrament, Sarah our 16 year old investigator came up to us and just seemed so happy and full of the spirit. It was so special.  We went to our ward mission leaders house, and I FINALLY had fried chicken! It was so good too! Being in the kitchen cooking all day reminded me of being at home cooking with my dad. I loved it! We then went caroling and had dinner with another family from the ward. It was a special night. This morning I got to talk to my cute family! I miss them so much, but I know I am supposed to be here. I am thankful for the support and love that my family continously gives me. I couldn't be luckier. This week was great!

I hope everyone has a great week, and remembers the true meaning of Christmas. I love the spirit of Christmas, and Thomas S. Monson says it best. "All you have to do is drop the last syllable and it becomes the center of Christ. I love Jesus Christ and this time of year! Merry Christmas everyone!
