Week 11: 1/1/2018: The Sweet Life

Hey y'all! It has been a great week as always. I hope everyone had a happy new year!

This week started out with some real fried chicken. When I thought of Georgia I thought of fried chicken and southern accents, but I think I am too far north ha! Nobody has cute southern accents, and I have not eaten fried chicken. Well, some of that changed when we had dinner with a member. WE HAD FRIED CHICKEN! It was seriously so good! It's the little things in life.

This week we had zone conference, and that was a blast. I love getting together with all of the missionaries and having a good time. We talked about some creative ways to find new people and hopefully they will work! The best part of the day is when we sang hymns all together. The missionaries were invited to pick a favorite hymn and then explain why it was their favorite. It was so cool to hear all of the reasons why missionaries chose certain songs. The spirit was so strong. One elder chose "Love is Spoken Here". I have always liked that song, but it never really stood out to me until the other day. While we were singing I just had this overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my mom and her example. I have walked into her room countless times and seen her praying. There is a line that says "Her plea to the Father, quiets all my fears." I just love it! It is so true! It was such a great experience and I am thankful that I got to go to zone conference.

We had great progress with our investigators this week. We want to try and get them on date for baptism soon! We were teaching a recent converts daughter, and the husband has never been involved with her conversion. While we were there he actually sat in on the lesson for the first time ever! It was a huge step for him! We also had a really great lesson with another recent convert and I could just feel God's love for her so much! I am grateful for the knowledge I have of the Gospel. So many people are looking for peace and comfort, but don't know where to find it. I love Jesus Christ and I am thankful for Him as well as the Book of Mormon!

It was a great week! We have to go to bed at 10:30 so we did not get to stay up for the new year, but we did see a couple of fireworks ha! I hope everyone is doing great. Thank you for the support and love. I am very blessed! Have an amazing week!
