Week 2: 10/24-28/2017: Stairway to Heaven
Hey ya'll!
I have NEVER climbed so many stairs in my life. In case you were wondering it is 110 steps to our classroom on the fifth floor ha! We also live on the fourth floor, and that elevator is way too sketchy to use. So we take the stairs. It is probably a good thing that we always take the stairs because Sunday and Wednesday are ice cream nights. Anyway, I am LOVING the MTC! Anyone who says that you can't love the MTC is lying. I have loved my time here! This week was crazy as usuall, but it was great!
Last P day we got to go to the temple as a district! It was a great experience, but I am not going to lie it was really hard to stay awake ha! The sisters were ready to go into the 2:00 session, but of course the Elders took too long and we missed that session. Elders right (; Other than that it was a great time and I am thankful to be able to go to the temple! We are going back later today.
My companion, Sister Warner, had a big problem a couple of days ago ha! She had her hair half up/ half down, and when she went to take her ponytail out it was stuck in her hair. We got just about every sister on the floor to help. I was laughing so hard.. which was not nice, but it was just too funny. After about 30 or 40 minutes we finally got it out of her hair! It was so funny. I am grateful to live with such fun girls!
Our lessons have been great this week! On Friday my companion and I were having a really hard day. I had had a hard morning and then I lost my key card ( I found it don't worry ), and then while at service we had to clean the showers. That was nasty. We got to wear some really cute gloves, goggles, and boots lol! Anyway, it just wasn't the best day, but that night was amazing. That night we taught a TRC named Erika. She had depression and was just having a hard time with life. Erika never really talked much in our lessons, but this lesson was different. I was teaching about the Atonement, and the words that came out of my mouth and the power that I felt were amazing. I could truly feel the work of the Lord going through me. The spirit was stronger than I have really ever felt before. I am thankful for this experience because it taught me to look at the good things during the day instead of the bad things. There are always going to be rough patches throughout your day, but there are always good things as well. I truly love this gospel, and I know that if I trust in the Lord he will always help me.
Another great thing that happened this week if that I saw my best friend! I got to see Elder Jeppesen. That made me so happy, and he looks like he is doing great! I am so lucky. On Sunday Matt Holland ( Elder Holland's son) came and spoke to us. It was a great devotional! Oh my! I almost forgot to tell ya'll about sacrament. So last week is when my companion and I became the branch music coordinators.. big mistake. No one plays the piano in or branch or no one is comfortable enough to play it, so we were going to just play the music on the speaker. Well the music didn't work and it was super awkward, and we had to sing all of the hymns without music. So hopefully we can figure the music out for this week! Our district is also singing a special number on Sunday during sacrament so that should be fun too haha! It will all work out hopefully!
This has been a long week, but it has been a great one. I have learned so much and I will continue to keep learning. I love the people that I am surrounded with, and being with them makes a mission just a little bit easier. Thank you to everyone at home for all of the support. It means the world to me. I love being able to read emails all week because it makes me feel a little closer to ya'll. I hope everyone is good! The next time you get a weekly email from me I should be in Georgia! I can't wait! Thank you for everything. I love ya'll!

Hey ya'll!
Sorry you get to hear from me twice this week, but I am leaving to Georgia on Monday! Because of that I will not be able to email all of next week, so I hope you enjoy this email.
On Tuesday we went to the temple as a district again. That was fun. The temple is my favorite place on earth, and I am sad that that was my last time going for a long time. Anyway, we had Elder Stevenson from the Quorum of the 12 speak to us. It is so cool to be in the presence of an apostle. He mostly just spoke on Christlike Attributes that are listed in Preach My Gospel. It was good, but the best part was the man sitting in front of us. I can't sing at all, but this man was singing his heart out. It was so funny! The devotional was good, and I am excited to see who will speak to us at tomorrow nights devotional.
I forgot to tell ya'll that I saw Sister Braun who used to live in Nephi! She is doing great and always look so cute! It is always so fun to see people you know! I also met a girl who lived in my mission. She said her parents have dinner with the missionaries all the time, so maybe I will met them as well. This sister is headed to Germany in a couple of weeks! Good luck! I can't believe I am headed off to Georgia on Monday! I am nervous and so excited. I hope everything works out smoothly, but life usually doesn't happen like that! I guess we will see ha!
I was also able to get a blessing from Elder Jeppesen this week. The blessing was not long, but I know that Elder Jeppesen said what I needed to hear. I am so lucky my best friend was able to do that for me! I could feel the spirit so strong. The priesthood is such an amazing thing. I am thankful for the priesthood and that I can receive blessings because of it.
I am sad that my time at the MTC is almost over, but I have learned so much. I have learned to try and love everyone regardless of their faults. We made goals in class and I chose to try and see everyone the way that Christ does. I know this helps to really think before you judge others. I am not perfect at it by any means, but I am trying to be better. My teachers at the MTC have been amazing. Sister Schmitt and Brother Wilson have taught me so much! They both have beautiful testimonies and I am so grateful that I have been able to be part of their class. Tonight is our last time with them, and that will be bitter sweet. Sister Schmitt has been so loving and is always so much fun! She loves Jesus Christ so much and she is so strong in the gospel. Brother Wilson always bears the most incredible testimonies, and they have really helped me. Not every day at the MTC has been easy, but overall I have loved it! I am so blessed.
I leave this Monday at 3:30 am... so wish me luck! I am so sad to leave my roommates and my district, but I know that we have great things ahead of us. Thank you to everyone who has supported me! It means the world to me! I say this a lot, but I am so blessed. You might not hear from me for awhile, but feel free to email me! Next time you hear from me I will be in Georgia! I hope everyone is doing great! I miss you and love you all so much!
