Week 16:2/5/2018: Fly Eagles Fly
Hey y'all!
Another great week in Laurel Springs. It was freezing, but good! I hope everyone had a good week as well!
This week we had some really great lessons! One of them really stood out to me, and that was our lesson with Ashton. Ashton is 17 years old and I absolutely adore her. She is so sweet and so much fun to be around. We were teaching her about prayer, and then I invited her to pray. The smile on her face was priceless. As she was praying, I could feel the spirit so strong. It was the first time she had ever prayed in front of us. I love being able to hear people pray for the first time or to read out of the Book of Mormon for the first time. It is amazing. Ashton's prayer was beautiful, and I am grateful I get to learn from her as she learns from us.
Not much else happened this week. Mostly tracting and teaching.. like always lol. Funny story. While we were tracting, we were standing at the front door of a house waiting for an answer. A car drove by and then turned around and drove off. No one answered the door. We went on to the next house, and the same car was driving by again. Turns out the house we were at was hers. She definitely wasn't interested 🤣
Saturday morning was a blast.. okay to be honest, it was ROUGH. We were tracting the day before and this man said to come back. So we did. Well, he was clearly not open minded and just invited us in to bash us. He proceeded to do so for almost 2 HOURS. I finally just said it's done and we needed to go. These situations are SO hard for me because the truth is right in front of their face. All he has to do is read the Book of Mormon with real intent and he would know. Anyway, we didn't let that ruin our day. We met some nice people throughout the day and ended the night with family history. Thanks to my grandma, I have amazing stories about my ancestors! She sent me a package full of stories and pedigree charts! It was like Christmas! If you're not doing family history work, I highly suggest you do it. It's amazing!
On fast Sunday I had a really great experience. When I was praying and doing my own thing while the sacrament was being passed, I had the impression to pray for a recent convert Megan to feel inclined to share her testimony. I didn't think much of it, but I prayed for that to happen anyway. Megan got up and bore a beautiful and simple testimony. It was amazing. I'm thankful for President Monson' s counsel to always act on spiritual promptings. You never know what will happen!
I had a good week, and great things are happening in Georgia. We are moving on the 12th which should be exciting! I hope everyone has a great week! Lots of love❤
