Week 17: 2/12/2018
Heyy'all!
It was a busy week here in Laurel Springs, but it was a good week! I hope everyone is doing great!
This week started off with a scare 🤣 Sister Oldham and I were in our apartment last p day when our door started to rattle. I immediately ran and hid in the bathroom, but Sister Oldham went to the door! She slowly opened the door and it was a cute, little old man. He was shocked! He said, "Well, I must be in the wrong apartment." 🤣🤣 then he continued to criticize us and how we should ALWAYS lock our door. Probably true lol.
We had zone conference this week, and that was amazing! I truly have the best mission President. President Marsh is just the best, and Sister Marsh is so sweet! They are definitely supposed to be here at this time. I am very grateful for them ❤ in the GANM, we have cars and bikes. Most areas really need cars because the roads are way too scary to bike on. Well, a lot of our cars are getting taken away 🙁 lucky for us, we still have ours! Our miles got cut down, but we still have a car every other week! #blessings Anyway, zone conference was good and gave us a spiritual boost that we needed. While at zone conference I met Sister Hurd! My parents actually sat by her grandparents at state drill the other day! That definitely wasn't a coincidence! Sister Hurd was on Binghams drill team, and she is so sweet!
The rest of the week was packing, packing and more packing. Today we moved into our new apartment! It's SO nice! We are very spoiled in Laurel Springs, but I'm very grateful. Missionaries had lived in our apartment before for four years, and the complex called the housing coordinator and said we could get an upgrade! So we did. During the moving process we had to take apart my study desk because I was getting a new one. Let me tell you, this desk was awful! We basically had to "Hulk Smash" the whole thing! After a few hours, it was torn apart and we could fit it out the door. Moving has been a little stressful, but we are glad to be in our new place!
This week I studied a little bit more about grace. A lot of people don't think that Mormons beleive in grace, but in my opinion, we have an ever greater understanding of what grace is. I am grateful that grace is the strength given to us through the Atonement. I don't know about y'all, but I need all the strength and help I can get from Jesus Christ. I am thankful for the Atonement and the love that Jesus Christ has for each one of us.
I also had a really amazing experience with prayer. I had been praying my guts out for something and I continued to do so day after day. Of course I wanted immediate results, but that's not really how prayer works most of the time. A few days later my prayers were answered. I was praying for something so small, but to me it meant the world. To know that Heavenly Father hears and answers our prayers means so much to me. Sister Oldham said I have a special gift of prayer. She said the things I pray for align with God's will, and that is why I receive so many answers. I know that when we pray and have sincere faith, that our prayers can be answered. Most likely not when we want them to, but when our prayers are supposed to be answered.
I hope everyone has a great week! Stay safe. Thank you for the love and support ❤ it means the world to me!
