Week 28: 4/30/2018: Solicitors Will Be Shot!
Hey y'all!
Another great week in Georgia 😊 Everything here is so green, and they have so many flowers! I love it! I hope everyone is doing great And had a good week!
My week started out with Zone P day last Monday. Our zone is really small now, but that's okay! We played some minute to win it games and had a good time. We also played volleyball and that was a blast!
On Tuesday we had a really cool tracting experience. We walked to an area close to us, and decided to knock doors on the right side of the street. Earlier that day our district made a goal to get inside and teach a lesson on our initial contact. So, we are walking up to this house, and they have a sign that says any solicitors will be shot. We aren't soliciting, but people think we are so we were a little scared 🤣 We knocked anyway! The lady opened the door and was so kind! She let us in to teach a lesson to her and her son. We didn't have a lesson in mind, but while we were in there we felt impressed to share a video about Jesus Christ. We tried showing the video, and it would not load. I decided that God wanted us to show her a different video, so we ended up playing a video about families. It was perfect! It talks about temples and the woman we met said the "Mormon churches" are the prettiest building she has ever seen. She wants us to come back and do family history with her! We can't wait!
The rest of the week was finding and teaching, like always haha! On Saturday we got to go to the park with our recent convert and her kids. Her daughter is Gracie that got baptized in January, and we are now teaching her son Ethan. It was such a fun day, and we were able to talk about the Holy Ghost with them. I love that family!
About 10 minutes ago on our way to email, we had a moment of divine timing. We were in our apartment and I felt like we needed to leave right then. So we did, and as we were walking out, we saw a walker with wheels that didn't have anyone with it. Side note: there are a lot of older people in our complex, so many of them use walkers. Anyway, as we walked further we saw the sweet lady who said her walker had gotten away from her. As we helped her take her groceries to her place, she told us that the good Lord had sent us to her. I love sweet moments like that!
I hope everyone has a great week! Lots of love.
