Week 60: 12/17/2018: If the Savior Stood Beside Me

This week went by so fast, and I can't believe it is almost Christmas! President and Sister Marsh blessed us with an early Christmas present and said that they would extend transfers by one week so that we can all stay in our areas for Christmas! I was so excited because we all know how much I love being here in Gainesville.

This week I had a lot of spiritual experiences, and I am grateful to know that God is aware of me. I was able to receive a blessing that helped me tremendously. Of course it didn't change any of the circumstances I'm in, but it blessed me with more light and knowledge of my Heavenly Father's love for me. I know He is there, and all we have to do is reach up to Him.

One of the greatest things I got to do this week was go to the baptism of Ethan, someone I taught while in Laurel Springs. Ethan is the brother of my recent convert Gracie, and being at the baptism was so sweet! I got to see some of my favorite people, and I got to see how the gospel continues to change Ethan's family! It was amazing... even if I forgot to take a lot of pictures!

Being here in Gainesville has taught me so much, and I know without a doubt that I am here to meet certain people. One of those people is Sister Chastain. She is the SWEETEST lady you will ever meet, and she has just taken me in since I have been here. The other day I was having a hard day.. because missionary work is tough, and she was there to help me. When Elder Bednar spoke to us a few months ago he said he wished that he could take each of our faces into his hands and for us to know that it was the Lord speaking to us. During my hard time, Sister Chastain did just that. I felt as if the Savior was there with me. There was an immediate peace that comforted my soul. I am so thankful for the opportunity I've had to serve here, and we will see what happens next week for transfers!

Because of the new transfer schedule, we will possibly get transfer calls on Christmas night and then we will have P day on Wednesday instead of next Monday. So, I will be here for another 10 days at least!

I hope y'all have a merry Christmas! Lots of love
