Week 71: 3/11/2019: Ghost Town
I love UGA! Go Dawgs! Serving on campus is a lot of fun.. until spring break happens. The campus becomes a ghost town and no one is home for days! Luckily, we have some sisters close to us that we will be staying with for a couple of days so we can continue to work and be productive.
This week we had an awesome lesson with Robbie! We finally got to meet with him again! In the lesson, we talked about strengths and weaknesses. We talked about making our weaknesses become strengths through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. As we were talking, I realized that we have to know ourselves and what we want in order to become better. With that being said, we need to know ourselves before we can come to know who the Savior truly is. Then, we need to know the Savior before we can come to know our Father in Heaven. In John 8:19 it says, " If ye had known me, he should have known my Father also."
I know that Jesus Christ lives and that He is at the head of this work. I absolutely love being a missionary, and I have never been so blessed in my life. There are miracles every single day, but sometimes we forget to recognize them. Another miracle that happened this week was with a girl named Şevval. Sister Cleveland and I decided to go tracting in a part of town where we never go. We got there and the only door to answer was Şevval. She invited us in before we even introduced ourselves, and then she told us that she was from Turkey and lived here with her sister and her dad. We offered free English classes to her, and she said she would think about it and get back to us. She actually got back to us! Lol! The next day she asked if we could meet up, so of course we did. We had a great lesson and she said she is also interested in learning more about Christianity. So cool!
I love this gospel. I know that we have to have it in our lives or we will not make it. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has high standards and the world hardly has standards anymore. Part of the reason we have this gospel knowledge is to be a light to others and help them come into Christ. I know that as we seek to follow Him, we will find Him.
